Things we do for our FRIENDS

The things we do for our friends.

It's Sunday, and today I woke up at 6.30am!! Did I mentioned its freaking Sunday and I woke up at 6.30am??

Why? Cause I promised my friends I'll join them for their photography session at USJ.

So, Sunday morning, I woke up, shower and waited for my friend to pick me up and drove to TTDI to join another friend and again drove to USJ to pick up yet another friend and her daughter.

Again I ask myself why did I bangun early this Sunday morning and joined them for the photography session when all I did was duduk bawah some pondok and membaca outdated magazine.

Well, the reasons are;

1. I've not seen my friend and her daughter for almost a year and this is a good time for me to catch up with them.

2. I've never seen my photographer friend in action before, so now is the chance to see her in action. (Altho' I only observed from a far cause I was sooo lazy to follow them around hehehe...)

3. It's always fun to be around friends that I love and we've known each other almost forever.

The breakfast was good too. I was hungry and I had an extremely delicious roti bakar at one of the kopitiam in Taipan.

We were done at bout 10.30am, my friend sent me home and me pengsan sleeping beauty right in the middle of my bed at approximately 12.30pm. Bliss!!!

Saya Memanjat Gunung Ledang

Date: 1 - 2 May 2007

While most Malaysian was resting at home enjoying the Labour Day holiday, a bunch of us woke up early that 1st May 2007 (me bangun 4.15am ok!!) to begin the journey of conquering Mount Ledang. That early morning, as early as 4.30am, I began my rounds of "collecting" people which started at Wangsa Maju, then Taman Tun and finally Bangsar.

As planned, all of us met at Kajang toll so that we can go together-gether to Tangkak Town for our breakfast. The roti telur sedap wei, tapi banyak lalat!!

After some short briefing by the Taman Negara Ledang staff, and some confusion over declaring every single item that we're going to bawa with us, the ascend started at 10am. The first 50meters I was already gasping for breath!!! What an embarrassment!!!

Ironically the 1st Check Point is called Bukit Semput!! How fitting!!

I walked alone cause I think it was easier for me , no pressure from the people behind me or to catch up with the people in front of me.

Our base camp was at Check Point 4 (there were 8 check points all together, The Summit being the last check point). We rested for about 2 hours before starting the journey up to the summit of Mount Ledang.

Check point 5 and 6 was easy. Going towards Check Point 7 was HELL!! They called it KFC as in Killing Fitness Centre. What a fitting name indeed. I almost busted my knees from all the climbing. I didn't know that it was going to be this physical and I was totally not prepared. There was a time when I just felt like giving up. But I kept pushing myself again and again.

By the time we reached the Summit I was too tired enjoy it. It was already dark when we got there anyway.

The journey back was worst!!! It was a never ending journey for all of us. We walked and walked, at every corner I wished it was the last one. But noooo.. it took us forever to get there. We arrived at the base camp at almost 3am!! That was a 12 hour journey from the base camp to the summit and down to the base camp. By the time we arrived, everybody was extremely exhausted. By then I lost my ability to smile, all I can think of was sleep, sleep and sleep!! We finally slept at about 4.45am.

The next morning, we started our descend at about 11am. Again I walked down alone. Slowly and enjoying the view. The trail was wet because of the rain. I slipped a few times. Habis kotor my baju and seluar!!

I must say, those 2 days was the most tiring day of my life after the Mount Kinabalu expedition. But nevertheless, it was extremely fun and the experience was something that I will never forget for the rest of my life. My whole body ache like hell but it was worth it.

The downside though I lost my camera and my glasses. Damn it!!!
