We're gonna rock Perak this weekend hehehe..

Last Wednesday I was having dinner with my 2 friends. We initially wanted to meet up for brunch on Saturday but then we decided to go somewhere far far away from KL instead. We decided to go to Perak which was earlier planned for July.

So yesterday, I booked my company's resthouse in Damai Laut and we're set for a roadtrip this Saturday.

Can't wait to see my friend in Ipoh and the roadtrip with my 2 monkey friends :)

It's going to be a FUN FILLED weekend!!!

I'm in love with Optimus Prime

Yesterday, my friend texted me that she managed to get the premiere tickets to watch Transformers at Cineleisure and the movie starts at 9.20pm.

I was at my Dale Carnegie's graduation and trying very hard to repress my excitement, else I'll be jumping up and down and the other participants may thought I was on sugar high :)

So right after my graduation, I went to pick up my friend at TTDI, had dinner at Dome and we're off to Cineleisure. Damn ramai orang weiiii!!!

I was in awe throughout the movie. It was amazing!! Simply an amazing movie!! I love everything about it. Even the robots were pimped up. The first time Optimus Prime appeared on screen, everybody went "oooo" and "aaaaa" and clapped their hands.

I am planning to watch it again and this time around I wanna watch it at IMAX. Woohooo... "Watch Transformers, LIFE-SIZED. Only at IMAX"

Special thanks to my friend who gave me the tickets. Mwah mwah.. Love you long-long hehehe..

Guerrilla Advertising

I stumbled upon a website today which have lists of some very interesting news, articles, pictures and video etc etc... Haven't looked into it all yet but so far these are my favourite..

Guerrilla marketing, as described by Jay Conrad Levinson in his popular 1984 book Guerrilla Marketing, is an unconventional way of performing promotional activities on a very low budget. Such promotions are sometimes designed so that the target audience is left unaware they have been marketed to and may therefore be a form of undercover marketing (also called stealth marketing). (an excerpt from Wikipedia)

Below are some examples of great guerrilla advertising (they are not from Malaysia though) but they are soooo good!! Brilliant!

This is my favourite. FedEx's excellent way of promoting their delivery speed.

Vacuum cleaner ad.

McDonald ad.

Watch ad. You can even try it on to see how it looks on your wrist :)

Beer ad in a bus

Casino ad on an airport conveyor belt. How cool is that?!! French roulette anybody?

You can even play ball in the men's room

or test your aiming skill

Superglue ad showing off how powerful the glue is

A mobile service provider ad.

and finally, a Mr. Clean ad.

Don't you think they were brilliant!! I love it!! I wish I can come up with ideas like that..

Love thee country..

I know it's June and still a bit early to be in a Merdeka or patriotic mood. But anyways, I was going through the online newspapers and came across this article "A Burmese Birthday".

Aung San Suu Kyi; born 19 June 1945 in Yangon (Rangoon), is a non-violent pro-democracy activist and leader of the National League for Democracy in Myanmar (Burma), and a noted prisoner of conscience. (an excerpt taken from Wikipedia)

The story of Aung San Suu Kyi really inspires me. The story of her sacrifices for the love of her country. And today, just as her previous years, she will spend another birthday alone. Today is her 62nd birthday. As for the last 17 birthdays since 1990, she has been celebrating it as a captive in her own home. She has been put under house arrest by the Burma's military junta and isn't allowed to to have any visitors even her own family and friends. As of May this year, her detention has been extended for another year.

As described by Gordon Brown in his book "Courage: Eight Portraits";

"So Suu Kyi's courage is the courage to sacrifice her own happiness and a comfortable life so that, through her struggle, she might win the right of an entire nation to seek happy and comfortable lives. It is the absolute expression of selflessness. Paradoxically, in sacrificing her own liberty, she strengthens its cry and bolsters its claim for the people she represents."

And quoting one of her most famous speeches is the "Freedom From Fear" speech, which begins:

"It is not power that corrupts but fear. Fear of losing power corrupts those who wield it and fear of the scourge of power corrupts those who are subject to it"

I have nothing but utmost respect for this lady.

Medical breakthrough!! Woohoooo!!!!

I'm currently reading a book by Mary Roach entitled "Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers".

It's an interesting book, funny but verrrryyyy educational. In one of its footnote there was a brief mentioning on this topic and while I was browsing to the net, I found a study conducted by these 4 people (Willibrord Weijmar Schultz, associate professor of gynaecology, Pek van Andel, physiologist, Ida Sabelis, anthropologist, Eduard Mooyaart, radiologist) who have nothing better to do other than taking MR images of people having sex!!

Below are the Abstract of the paper,

Objective:
To find out whether taking images of the male and female genitals during coitus is feasible and to find out whether former and current ideas about the anatomy during sexual intercourse and during female sexual arousal are based on assumptions or on facts.

Design: Observational study.

Setting: University hospital in the Netherlands.

Methods: Magnetic resonance imaging was used to study the female sexual response and the male and female genitals during coitus. Thirteen experiments were performed with eight couples and three single women.

Results: The images obtained showed that during intercourse in the "missionary position" the penis has the shape of a boomerang and 1/3 of its length consists of the root of the penis. During female sexual arousal without intercourse the uterus was raised and the anterior vaginal wall lengthened. The size of the uterus did not increase during sexual arousal.

Conclusion: Taking magnetic resonance images of the male and female genitals during coitus is feasible and contributes to understanding of anatomy.

Righttttt...

Tattooooooooooooo.....

I went back to my hometown earlier this month. I just needed to get away from work and chill around my beloved town.

Most of my time was spent eating all the food that I can't find in KL (the taste is not the same as the one in KK hehehe..). Dragged my friends and cousins around town in search of tasty pau, chicken rice, wantan mee (there's this one shop selling wantan mee, he called it wantan USA as in Udang Seafood Ayam.. Err.. Udang bukan seafood aaa???) Crazy sedap weiiii... :)

Other than idling around the house, I also spent a few hours everyday, sitting in front of my cousin's laptop surfing the net (my internet at home still "bodoh". It's been 2 months but I'm so lazy to fix it hehehe..). While I was surfing Wikipedia (Wiki rawks mannnn...) I found this link www.hanzismatter.com.

It's a blog dedicated to the misuse of Chinese characters in western culture especially in tattoo. I read the first entry and I was hooked!!! I spent the next few days reading most of the previous entry.

Anyways people, if you are considering a kanji or hanzi tattoo, make sure you do some research first, else you'll end up being one of them as posted on Hanzi Smatter, a permanent tattoo on you body which might translated into "I'm a horny goat" :).

This is one blog that is highly recommended by me. Come on, read it!
